Japan Disaster Relief Effort!

Weeks after an earthquake (9.0 magnitude) and tsunami hit Japan, conditions in the country remain dire. UVA law students did their part to lend support to provide relief for the victims of this natural disaster.
The week of April 11-15, jars were set up Hunton & Williams hall to collect donations. Jars were organized according to sections. The section that raised the most funds won an ice cream party sponsored by APALSA, HLA, PILA, BLSA, and SBA.
All proceeds were donated to AmeriCares, a non-profit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization that continues to provide medical supplies directly to evacuation shelters and hospitals in Miyagi, Fukushima, and Iwate, the hardest hit prefectures of Japan.
All in all, students raised a total of $1,252.12!!
